Plan Your Route: The Togian Islands are a bit off the beaten path, so you'll need to plan your route carefully. You'll likely fly into Luwuk and then take a bus or car to Ampana, where you can catch a ferry to the islands.
Pack Light: The weather is typically warm and humid, so lightweight, breathable clothing is a must. Don't forget your swimsuit, sunscreen, and a good book for those lazy beach days!

Togian Islands Boat/Ferry Schedule
We Provide the latest boat and ferry schedule to/from Togian Islands
Ferry Tuna Tomini
You can catch the ferry Tuna Tomini from Gorontalo to Togian Islands every Tuesday and Friday at 16:00 hrs.
And from Togian Islands to Gorontalo is every Monday and Thursday at 16:00 hrs.
You can only buy the tickets at the ferry terminal. on the departure date.


Public Boat to/from Togian Islands
You can catch Public boat Wamburabura from Ampana to Wakai, Katupat and Malenge - Pulau papan every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:00 hrs
And from Pulau papan, Malenge to Katupat, Wakai and Ampana every Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday at 07:00 hrs. You can buy the ticket easily at the main harbour of Ampana on the departure dates.
You can catch daily Hercules speedboat at 09:00 hrs from Ampana to Bomba and Wakai.
And from Wakai to Bomba and down to Ampana is at 13:00 hrs.

From Ampana:
1. There is a speed boat runs between Ampana to Bomba and Wakai every day at 09:00 and 13:00 (Return)
.However, bear in mind that schedules often change due to breakdowns and weather. Or with the Public boat/ferry and under normal conditions it takes about 4hrs to Wakai, another 1hr to Katupat and 2 more hours from wakai to Malenge - Pulau papan. All resorts offer connecting speedboats or outrigger boat to their places from the closer harbor.
2. Public Boat "Wamburabura" runs every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday form Ampana to Wakai, Katupat and to Malenge and Pulau Papan at 10:00..
And from the Togian Islands to Ampana every Sunday, Tueaday and Thursday starting from Pulau Papan, Malenge to Katupat, Wakai and all the way down to Ampana.
3. Public boat from Ampana to Bomba is every Monday , Wednesday and Saturday at 10 am
From/To Gorontalo:
The ferry "Tuna Tomini" runs twice a week from Gorontalo to Wakai (travel time 13hrs) and continues on to Ampana. It leaves Gorontalo every Tuesday and Friday at 17:00, arriving in Wakai the next morning.
The same ferry makes the return trip to Gorontalo twice a week, on Thursdays and Mondays, leaving Ampana at 10:00 in the morning, reaching Wakai about 15:00. After taking Gorontalo-bound passengers and freight the ferry then leaves Wakai at 16:00 and arriving in Gorontalo the next morning around 05:00.
Make sure if it's busy and you're going overnight, you reserve a mattress when you buy your ticket. This is called "tatami", you'll get a number assigned, otherwise you'll be sleeping on the deck!
There is no ATM in Togian Islands so bring enough cash.
Transportation from Ampana to Poso/Palu/Tentena/Rantepao and to Luwuk
Transport from Ampana to Poso: Daily with minivan 10:00 and 17:00 (8 seats) and it cost Rp 100.000/person and takes 4 hours.
Charter Car from Ampana to Poso cost Rp 700.000 takes 3 – 4 hours (max 5 people)
Transport from Ampana to Palu/ Palu to Ampana: Daily with minivan depart at 10:00 and 17:00 (8 seats) and it cost Rp 200.000/person and takes 12 hours.
Charter car from Ampana to Palu cost Rp 1.500.000 and takes about 10-12 hours (max 5 people)
Charter Car from Ampana to Luwuk cost Rp 1.000.000 takes 6 – 7 hours (max 5 people)
Most of the Tourist charter a car from Ampana to Tentena and it cost around Rp 1.000.000 and takes about 6-7 hours (max 5 people)
There is no regular bus from Ampana to Rantepao: you can only catch the bus at 23:00 (almost every night) that coming from Luwuk and it goes all the way down to Makassar and you can stop in Palopo (cost around Rp 500.000/person) which is about 2 hours from Rantepao.
Charter car from Ampana to Rantepao cost around Rp 3.000.000 and it takes 14 hours.
